To provide a humidity-conditioning construction material rich in design by performing image recording in an energy-responsive curable ink, while maintaining a humidity-conditioning function.
A humidity-conditioning construction material is prepared by carrying out recording on a substrate having a surface roughness r of 0.5 to 1.9 μm so that a recording area ratio S as a ratio of the recording area of an image relative to the surface area of the substrate satisfies the expression: S≤(b-t)/x. In this instance, t denotes a reference humidity absorption amount [g/m2] requested for the humidity-conditioning construction material after recording, b denotes a humidity absorption amount [g/m2] of the substrate, and x denotes a value determined from the surface roughness r of the substrate and a stuck amount q [g/m2] of the energy responsive curable ink and based on the following expression: x=0.081*ln(q)-0.161*r+0.15.
