Title:
HUMIDITY CONTROL DEVICE FOR STEAM TURBINE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0275703
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To simply and positively prevent rust and preserve steam turbines by providing temperature detectors at typical portions of turbine casings, and automatically injecting dry air into the casings when it is detected that the temperature at the portions reaches a specified value. CONSTITUTION:Temperature detectors 21, 22 are provided in a high pressure casing 1 and a low pressure casing 2 respectively, and air injection valves 25, 26 are provided to injection pipes 11, 12. When steam turbines are stopped, both high pressure and low pressure turbines are cooled off with time, and the temperature of the low pressure turbine first reaches a satulation temperature. When the turbine is cooled off below the satulation temperature, dew-drops are generated on the surface of the turbine and can cause the generation of rust. Thus, when a typical portion of the low pressure turbine reaches a specified temperature, an air injection valve 26 is adapted to be opened based on a signal from the temperature detector 22 to inject dry air into the low pressure turbine casing 2 so that the casing can be held at dried state. In the same manner, dry air is injected into the high pressure turbine casing 1.
