To provide a hybrid blade for a steam turbine.
A steam turbine blade has a working temperature range and a design rotating speed, and includes the blade root, the blade tip and a blade-shaped part having the radial axis extending outward to the blade tip and inward to the blade root. The blade-shaped part includes a metallic section 134 substantially composed of metal, having first mass density and extending in the radial direction up to the substantially blade tip from the substantially blade root, and at least one fiber composite material section having second mass density smaller than the first mass density. The fiber composite material section includes carbon fiber composite materials 144, 244 and 344, and glass barrier layers 146, 246 and 346 arranged between the carbon fiber composite material and the metallic section.
