To provide a hybrid driving device and its control method which can protect each part which generates driving force even when switched to a gear shift step at the low speed side.
A hybrid control section 52 performs control operation so that the vehicle speed does not exceed the rstriction vehicle speed defined beforehand according to a gear ratio of LO gear step if sub-gear shift mechanism 26 is switched to the LO side gear step. Specifically the hybrid control section 52 reduces at least one of the output of an engine 8 and a driving torque which the engine 8 and a second motor generator MG 2 generate so that rotation speed of the second motor generator MG 2 does not exceed permissible rotation speed. Further the hybrid control section 52 reduces at least one of the driving torque which the engine 8 and a first motor generator MG 1 generate also when temperatures T1, T2, T3, T4, and T5 detected by temperature sensors 11t, 12t, 62t, 20t, and 26t, respectively exceed corresponding upper limit temperatures.
