Abstract:
To provide a hybrid excitation type rotary electric machine whose cooling of an exciting coil is improved.SOLUTION: A hybrid excitation type rotary electric machine comprises: a rotor comprising a shaft extending along a central axis, and a rotor core fixed onto a radial outer side of the shaft; a stator arranged via an air gap on a radial outer side of the rotor; and an excitation coil unit comprising an excitation coil for exciting the rotor core. The rotor comprises a permanent magnet for exciting the rotor core. The excitation coil is opposed to the rotor core in an axial direction. The stator comprises a first stator core arranged on one axial side of the excitation coil unit, and a second stator core arranged on the other axial side of the excitation coil unit. The excitation coil unit comprises, in at least one of a surface on the one axial side and a surface on the other axial side, a groove part which a coolant can flow into.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
