Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the leakage and the conductor loss significantly while using a stator of conventional structure by arranging rotor halves on the rotor shaft while spacing apart from each other in the axial direction and mounting an exciting coil in the intermediate space. SOLUTION: A synchronous electric rotating machine comprises a laminated stator core 2 applied with a stator winding 3 being set in a return yoke 1, and a rotor 4 split axially into two rotor halves 5, 6 fixed to the rotor shaft 7 while spaced apart in the axial direction. Each rotor half 5, 6 is provided, in the laminated core thereof, with an insertion opening 8 for fitting a permanent magnet 9 and an exciting ring coil 16 is inserted into the space between the rotor halves 5, 6. Since an exciting coil 16 can reach the air gap 10 of the electric rotating machine or the vicinity thereof, leakage loss can be reduced greatly using a conventional stator.
