To maintain suitable strength and wear characteristics until at least 450°C, more preferably about 500°C.
The hybrid metal composition of Al or Al alloy which includes a combination of a metal matrix and a reinforcing material consisting of particles, whiskers or fibers of alumina, silicon carbide, silicon dioxide, boron carbide, boron nitride, titanium diboride and/or titanium carbide dispersed in the metal matrix as well as an intermetallic compound in which the intermetallic compound is the intermetallic compound of at least one kind of second metals (Ni, Fe, Ti, Co, Nb and/or Zr) and Al.
