Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hybrid power generation plant for enhanced efficiency and dynamic performance.SOLUTION: A hybrid power generation plant is characterized by a substantially fixed load imposed on an electric generator irrespective of instantaneous amplitude of a power load. The short-term variation of the power load is dealt with by a DC constituting element such as a capacitor, a battery, a resistor or a combination thereof or the like. The resistor is used to consume power when the load of the power generation plant generates surplus power. The capacitor stocks power, and when the load in the power generation plant requests for additional power, the capacitor is used for transmission. The electric generator can be operated with higher efficiency and reduce exhaust by reduction of rapid variation of the power load as permitted to the electric generator. In addition, the power generation plant adopting the combination of an electric generator, a load and an energy stocking device increases dynamic performance.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
