Abstract:
To realize calculation structure and technology not as a purely analog or purely digital hybrid composition but as an analog and digital hybrid composition.
A hybrid state machine has an analog dynamic system 720 and a digital finite state machine 710. The system 720 has a means for establishing the analog state of the system 720, a means for receiving a digital input 730 and an analog input 721 and a means for generating an analog output including a spike signal 731. The machine 710 has a means 715 for establishing plural digital states, a means for receiving digital input 711 and a spike analog input 731 and a means for generating digital output. The digital output includes a digital control vector (e.g., a binary control vector 730).
