To solve the problem of a hybrid type power generating device having a function for assisting the rotation of a windmill at low wind velocity that the necessity of the assist function must be examined from the situation of wind in each installing area and thereby cost may be increased by the addition of an extra function when the assist function is not required, and to obtain a minimum necessary facility configuration.
The hybrid type power generating device comprises a photovoltaic generation means 1 for generating power by receiving sunlight, a generator 3 as a means for generating power by receiving wind through a windmill 2, a means 4 for storing generated power, and a means 6 for additionally connecting an independent rotation assist control means 5 for controlling the windmill 2 to rotate when the wind velocity is too low to start the rotation of the windmill (e.g. wind velocity of 2 m/s or less) wherein the rotation assist control means can be attached or removed as required when the wind velocity is low. Furthermore, stabilized assist control can be attained easily because power from the photovoltaic generation means 1 is utilized as power supply.
