To maintain traveling stability by suppressing the drop in traveling output when electric power is generated with an internal combustion engine used as its drive source while a hybrid vehicle is driven by the engine.
The command of power generation is given to a generator (motor-generator M/G), and the command of an output increase to the internal combustion engine (engine ENG). A temporary delay process is added to the command of the power generation (target generation torque) to control the generator in such a way that the current is generated that corresponds to the command of the power generation after this process. On the other hand, the internal combustion engine is controlled so as to output the target engine torque at this instance by adding torque equivalent to the command of the power generation to it, based on the command of the output increase.
