To provide a control device for a hybrid vehicle performing fuel cut-off and efficient regeneration.
The control device for the hybrid vehicle is provided with a control determining means for determining whether an internal combustion engine needs to generate driving force in a moving state including accelerator opening or throttle opening; a shift stage selecting means for an automatic transmission based on the throttle opening and vehicle speed; a two-stage up-shift determining means for determining whether the final shift stage selected by the shift stage selecting means is a two or more stage higher-speed stage than the shift stage selected at present when the control determining means determines that the internal combustion engine does not need to generate driving force; and a two-stage up-shift control means for performing shift control sequentially stage by stage from the present to the final shift stage when the means determines the predetermined conditions are met, and controlling a lock-up clutch to be in a semi-coupled state for a predetermined time synchronously and abreast of shift stage control, and then controlling the lock-up clutch to be in a direct-coupled state synchronously with the shift into the final shift stage from immediately before the final shift stage.
