Abstract:
To provide a control method for a hybrid vehicle which exhibits a power performance responding to a driving force demand with a good response while suppressing fuel consumption in an engine when a mode transition request from an EV mode to an HEV mode is made.SOLUTION: In a control method for a hybrid vehicle which performs mode transition control between an EV mode and an HEV mode, if there is a transition request to the HEV mode during selection of the EV mode in which operation of the engine 1 is stopped, engine start is begun to put the engine 1 in autonomous operation. After beginning of the engine start, when an engine rotation speed Ne reaches a fuel cut starting rotation speed Ne (F/C) which is set according to a target motor rotation speed tNm, a fuel cut to the engine 1 is started. After starting of the fuel cut, when a fuel cut timer value T (F/C) set according to the target motor rotation speed tNm elapses, the fuel cut is returned to fuel injection.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
