To provide a hybrid vehicle which suppresses a shock generated when a stop of at least the rotation of a first motor generator is completed.
The hybrid vehicle is provided with: an internal combustion 10; an MG1; a power division mechanism 40 for connecting the MG1 to a drive wheel 91 and for dividing the power of the internal combustion engine 10 into the MG1 and the drive wheel 91; a brake mechanism 50 for mechanically stopping the rotation of the MG1; and an invertor 21 for converting DC power from the battery 22 into AC power to supply it to the MG1, and converting AC power from the MG1 into DC power to collect it to a battery 22 where, when the rotation of the MG1 is stopped by the brake mechanism 50, it is determined whether or not the temperature of at least either the MG1 or the invertor 21 is equal to or higher than a prescribed temperature, and when it is equal to or higher than the prescribed temperature, the stop of the rotation of the MG1 by the brake mechanism 50 is ended.
