Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To securely stop an engine if engine stop is required while enabling retreat travel using engine power if ENG-HV communication malfunction occurs.SOLUTION: A hybrid vehicle comprises: an engine; a first MG; an output shaft; a planetary gear mechanism connecting them; an engine ECU; and a hybrid ECU. The engine ECU operates the engine if a communication abnormality occurs, and stops the engine if an engine rotating speed falls out of a predetermined range and if an auxiliary-machine voltage decreases below a threshold value. If a communication abnormality occurs, the hybrid ECU controls the torque of the first MG such that the engine rotating speed is maintained at a value within a predetermined range. If engine stop is required, the hybrid ECU stops torque output of the first MG. If an engine rotating speed stays within a predetermined range after the torque output of the first MG is stopped, the hybrid ECU decreases the auxiliary-machine voltage below the threshold value.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
