Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hybrid electrical automobile improved in a performance, easiness of driving, a cost, a weight and the like, by realizing a large reduction in fuel expenses and a reduction in a contaminant discharge as compared with conventional internal combustion engine vehicle and hybrid vehicle.
SOLUTION: The hybrid vehicle includes an internal combustion engine 40, electric motors 21, 25 coupled to traveling wheels and operable as generators, a battery bank 22 connected to the motors 21, 25, a controller for controlling operations of the internal combustion engine and the electric motors 21, 25 and controlling a flow of an electric energy between the motors 21, 25 and the bank 22, and inverter/charger 23, 27 including a plurality of pairs of elements to be switched to move the motors 21, 25 so as to provide a repulsion torque to the traveling wheels and to convert the torque to be transmitted from the wheels 3, 4 to the motors 21, 25 into energy for recharging the battery bank 22.
