Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydraulic automatic tensioner which can impart proper tension to a belt at either of a normal operation of an engine and an engine start by ISG.SOLUTION: A plunger 28 is slidably fit to the outside of a rod 14, a first leak clearance 31 is formed between the plunger 28 and the rod 14, and a second leak clearance 32 which is larger than the first leak clearance 31 in flow passage resistance is formed between slide faces of the plunger 28 and a valve sleeve 13. When a press-in force in a direction in which a cylinder 10 is contracted to a spring seat 16 is applied, oil in a pressure chamber 15 is made to leak to a reservoir chamber 24 from the first leak clearance 31. The plunger 28 is ascended by pressure in the pressure chamber 15, the first leak clearance 31 is closed by a second check valve 35 which is arranged between the plunger 28 and the rod 14, and the oil in the pressure chamber 15 is made to leak to the reservoir chamber 24 from the second leak clearance 32 which is larger in the flow passage resistance.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
