Abstract:
PURPOSE:To tolerate a large load and to improve responsiveness by providing an adjuster constructed so that a coiled spring and a hydraulic adjuster are coaxially disposed between flange portions of a pair of fittings. CONSTITUTION:A tensioner pulley 11 for pressing a timing belt 8 is retained by an adjuster 12. The first and second fittings 23, 24 having a pair of confronting flange portions 23b, 24b are formed on both ends of the adjuster 12. A coiled spring 27 is mounted between the flange portions 23b and 24b, and a coaxial hydraulic adjuster 28 is disposed in the interior thereof. The hydraulic adjuster 28 comprises a cylinder body 29 fixed to the flange portions 23b, 24b and a plunger 30. Accordingly, the disadvantage of the hydraulic adjuster that responsiveness is delayed by viscosity of working oil is overcome by the coiled spring 27 to tolerate a large load, be excellent in responsiveness and be reduced to a compact size.
