Title:
HYDRAULIC BUFFER AND SUSPENSION DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2006207771
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To obtain suitable damping force to a very small stoke at need in a simple structure in a suspension device.

An air spring 2 and a hydraulic buffer 3 are combined, a piston rod 8 is connected to an upper piston 4, and an outer cylinder 7 is connected to a lower piston 6. A friction member 26 is fitted to the tip of the piston rod 8. The compressed air is supplied and discharged from a connection port 12 to an air chamber 11 to adjust the vehicle height. During medium low speed running, the vehicle height is increased not to engage the friction member 26 with the outer cylinder so that the damping force is generated only by flowing of oil liquid. During high speed running, the vehicle height is decreased to engage the friction member 26 with the outer cylinder 7 so that the damping force is generated by sliding friction between them. Since the damping force is generated by the frictional force, enough damping force can be generated to a very small stroke to heighten steering stability during high-speed running of the vehicle.
