To facilitate the assembly of a housing 20 with a center section 5 in a hydraulic continuously variable transmission 1 comprising an output shaft 32 pivotally supported on bearing hole parts 20b and 5b formed in the housing 20 and the center section 5, a cylinder block 33 having the output shaft inserted therein and rotated together with the output shaft 32, an internal spring type plunger 34 slidably inserted into the cylinder block 33, and a fixed swash plate 35 in contact with the plunger 34.

An elastically deformable projected part is provided on the inner peripheral surface of the bearing hole part 20b in the housing 20, and a groove part is provided in the front end part outer peripheral surface of the output shaft 32. The front end part of the output shaft 32 is inserted into the bearing hole part 20b to engage the projected part with the groove part and, after the axial movement of the output shaft 32 is restricted, the housing 20 is assembled with the center section 5.
