To compact a hydraulic continuously variable transmission by reducing amount of protrusion in the radial direction of a swash plate servo device.
A swash plate plunger pump P has a pump casing 20 having an input driven gear 5, a pump cylinder 22 and a motor cylinder 32 are connected and arranged on a transmission output shaft 6, and a motor swing member 35 having a motor swash plate member 31 is supported so as to incline and swing freely. A motor servo mechanism SV inclining and swinging the motor swing member is constituted by a ball screw shaft 61, a ball nut 62 which is screw-fitted in the ball screw shaft 61 and with which an end part of the motor swing member is connected, and a swash plate control motor 67 rotating and driving a screw shaft. The swash plate control motor is positioned on a hydraulic pump P side more than the input driven gear 5, is drawn close to a central axis side of the transmission output shaft, and is attached to an outer face of a transmission housing. The swash plate control motor and the input driven gear are partially overlapped when viewed on a side.
