To provide a valve body that can capture, with a simple structure where the number of component is small, foreign objects such as metal abrasion powders included in hydraulic oil distributed through an oil path in the valve body, and also foreign objects included in hydraulic oil, when the automatic transmission, and to provide an automatic transmission including the same.
The valve body 1 installed in the casing 101 of the automatic transmission 100 includes a housing part 11 having a groove or a groove different from a hole 10b, or a hole constituting an oil path 5 disposed in an upper body 10. At least a part of a separate plate 30 is installed to be exposed to the housing part 11, a permanent magnet 7 is installed in the housing part 11, and the permanent magnet 7 is disposed in contact with the separate plate 30. The housing part 11 is disposed near a side face 10d in the upper body 10, and an opening 12 is formed to communicate with the side face 10d of the upper body 10 from the housing part 11.
