To provide a hydraulic control device for an internal combustion engine, capable of suppressing an excessive increase in an amount of lubricating oil supplied to a suction passage.
A lubricating oil supplying device 40 of the internal combustion engine 1 includes an oil pan 41 to store the lubricating oil supplied to the engine 1, an oil pump 43 to pump up the lubricating oil from the oil pan 41, a supply passage 42 to supply each part of the engine 1 with the lubricating oil discharged from the oil pump 43, and a hydraulic control mechanism 50 to relieve the lubricating oil in the supply passage 42 to the oil pan 41 when the oil pressure in the passage 42 is over the relief pressure PX, wherein the relief pressure PX is set to a first relief pressure P1 or a second relief pressure P2. When the oil level L is higher than the first determination value LXH, setting the relief pressure PX to the first relief pressure P1 is prohibited.
