Abstract:
PURPOSE:To smoothly switch from forward operation to backward operation by hydraulic-controlling a front clutch to be instantaneously disconnected, interlocking with the switching operation of a forward-backward switch mechanism. CONSTITUTION:When a speed change gear is in the state of D-range (forward) operation, a spool 28 of a manual valve 26 is located at a position shown in the drawing, line pressure in an oil path 18 acts upon a port 36 of a forward-backward switch valve 35 through an oil path 32, so that a piston 37 is moved to the left to move a shift fork of a forward-backward switch mechanism to the left through a rod 38. As a land 39 of the forward-backward switch valve 35 closes an oil path 40 at this time, a front clutch 7 is in the state of connection. When the manual valve 26 is switched to R-range (backward) operation in such a condition, the oil path 40 is instantaneously opened through a narrow portion 44 between the lands 39, 43 with the movement to the right of the piston 37, so that the front clutch 7 is instantaneously disconnected.
