To provide a hydraulic device and a method for controlling the same, capable of improving positioning accuracy while improving responsiveness of a hydraulic pump.

The hydraulic device includes: a pump 450 driven by a motor 400 to be rotatable in both directions; a hydraulic cylinder 200 the piston rod 220 of which is driven by the pump 450; a solenoid valve inserted into the conduit of a head side port or a rod side port; and a linear displacement gauge 250. Thus, positioning accuracy is improved while improving the responsiveness of the hydraulic pump.
