To provide a method of estimating the hydraulic geological structure of the ground around a reservoir at a markedly lower cost than a conventional one.
The method includes steps of (a) measuring the water levels of a plurality of spring water points 28 around the reservoir 24, putting marks 32 in equal water level positions from the positions and water levels of the plurality of spring water points 28 on a plane showing the positions of the plurality of spring water points 28, and preparing an underground water level contour map 51 by drawing contour lines 33 which connect those marks 32, (b) measuring the water level and the reservoir 24 and the spring water quantities of the spring water points 28 existing in lower positions than the reservoir 24 out of the spring water points 28, obtaining waveforms showing the water level change of the reservoir 24 and the spring water quantity change of the spring water points 28 respectively, and obtaining time required until the waveform showing the spring water quantity change shows shape similar to the waveform showing the water level change, and (c) estimating the hydraulic geological structure around the reservoir 24 based on the underground water level contour map and the time.
