Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve water turbine efficiency by reducing a disk friction loss caused by water flowing into a runner side pressure chamber.SOLUTION: A hydraulic machine according to an embodiment comprises a crown 7, a band 8, a runner 6 including a plurality of runner blades 9 provided between the crown 7 and the band 8, and a cover 16 that covers the runner 6 from the outside. A runner side pressure chamber 15 is formed between the band 8 and the cover 16, and the runner side pressure chamber 15 is formed in such a manner that a flow passage area thereof does not expand from an upstream side end part 15U to a downstream side end part 15D during water turbine operation.
