To provide a hydraulic power transmission with a lock-up clutch that relaxes stress concentration at a part welded to a turbine impeller so as to improve engine output performance, without increasing plate thickness of a second transmission pawl.
The second transmission pawl 34 is constituted of a base part 34a whose long sides are along the circumferential direction C of the turbine impeller 3, while its short sides are along the axial direction S of the turbine impeller 3, and a pawl part 34b which protrudes from an intermediate part of one long side 34a1 of the base part 34a and are inserted into between neighboring damper springs 32. Both the short sides 34a3, 34a3 of the base part 34a are fixed fast to the turbine impeller 3 by way of the welding W, while notches 45 are formed, on the long side 34a1 which is not welded to the turbine impeller 3, that allow the long side 34a1 to easily bend when the second transmission pawl 34 transmits torque, on the both sides of the pawl part 34b of the base part 34a.
