PURPOSE: To provide a hydraulic pulsation damping device capable of quickly reacting to a change in the speed of a prime mover.
CONSTITUTION: The number of revolutions of a prime mover 1 is detected by speed detector 10 and inputted to a control signal generator 12. Also, a throttling device 14 is formed out of a piezoelectric element and a transmission section for transmitting the displacement thereof. In addition, the signal generator 12 sends the element a signal corresponding to the speed of the prime mover 1 identified with the detector 10. As a result, the element contracts and expands for displacement. A variable throttle 13 is thereby driven and the opening area thereof changes. In this case, the displacement of the element takes place very quickly and consequently the throttle 13 also operates quickly. According to this construction, the opening area of the throttle 13 can quickly follow a change in the speed of the prime mover 1, resulting in the effective damping of pulsation at all times.
