Abstract:

To limit the risk of intrusion of injection fluid into a rear part of a shank and the inside of a hammer drill which receives a striking piston of the hammer drill.SOLUTION: A hydraulic rotary impact hammer drill comprises a fluid injector including a fluid supply inlet and an annular inner groove fluidly connected to the fluid supply inlet, a shank including a fluid injection conduit fluidly connected to an annular inner groove, front and rear main seal gaskets axially disposed on either side of the annular inner groove and configured to cooperate with a first shank portion of the shank, a rear backup seal gasket positioned after the rear main seal gasket and configured to cooperate with a second shank portion of the shank, a leakage passage defined between the shank and the fluid injector, pressure drop generating means configured to generate a pressure drop across a leak passage when the leak flow flows through the leak passage.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
