PURPOSE: To prevent the occurrence of buckling in the spool of a hydraulic servo valve, and to achieve the same control precision as is obtained when a static pressure bearing is machined inside the spool.
CONSTITUTION: A spool 34 is formed into a solid member, and passageways 48L and 48R through which pressurised water Ps passes are formed in a sleeve 32. The passageways 48L and 48R are connected to pressure water discharging openings 50L and 50R in the vicinity of both ends of the spool 34 from a point P where the pressurised water Ps is supplied into the sleeve 32 in such a way that the pressure water discharging opening 50L and 50R act as static pressure bearings by supplying pressurised water to the openings 50L and 50R in the vicinity of both ends of the spool 34.
