Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve both the temperature compensation and the durability of a hydraulic shock absorber which operates the attenuation by utilizing a chock function by the clearance between two members.
CONSTITUTION: A piston 4 connected to a piston rod 8 and sliding in a cylinder 2, and a circular collar 22 built in the piston 4 are provided, and a circular clearance 40 to exercise a chocking function while communicating the upper and the lower operating liquid chambers 11 and 12 of the piston 4 is formed between the collar 22 and the piston 4, so as to compose a hydraulic shock absorber. In such a hydraulic shock absorber, a thermal expansion pin 20 which has a large thermal expansion coefficient is provided between the piston 4 and the collar 22, as well as the collar 22 is composed to be movable at right angles to the axial line of the piston rod 8. And by the expansion and contraction of the thermal expansion pin 20, the collar 22 is displaced so as to convert the form of the circular clearance 40.
