Title:
HYDRAULIC TIMER OF FUEL INJECTION PUMP
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3467859
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To move a timer piston smoothly irrespective of differences in coefficient of thermal expansion when a material of a housing differs from that of a cylinder liner in a fuel injection pump of an internal combustion engine.
CONSTITUTION: A cam ring 24 which controls the operation timing of a plunger is connected to a timer piston 60 through a slide pin 58. The timer piston 60 is fitted into a cylinder liner 62 which is press-fitted into a housing 56. The housing 56 and a cylinder liner 62 are press-fitted in press-fitting sections 62-1 at both ends in the axial direction. A first clearance 90 is provided and extended in the longitudinal direction between the cylinder liner 62 and the housing 56 in a section 62-2 between the press-fitting sections. Second clearances 60-1, 60-2 in the radial direction are positioned between the cylinder liner 62 and the timer piston 60 in the press-fitting sections 62-1. Consequently, it is possible to absorb differences in thermal expansion by clearances 90, 60-1, and 60-2.
