PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydraulically operated automobile having a simply constructed change gear mechanism, a lighter weight and a simply constructed power transmission path from an engine to a hydraulic pump.
SOLUTION: This hydraulically operated automobile comprises the hydraulic pump 10 to be driven by the engine E and a hydraulic motor 30 capable of normal and reverse run for driving wheels 31, the hydraulic motor 30 and the hydraulic pump 10 having respective hydraulic circuits 50 connected in a circulating form. An input shaft of the hydraulic pump 10 is connected directly to a crankshaft C of the engine E and a flow control valve 60 is provided between the hydraulic pump 10 and the hydraulic motor 30. The flow control valve 60 has a first change-over position where an oil fed from the hydraulic pump 10 is returned to the hydraulic pump 10, a second change-over position where the oil fed from the hydraulic pump 10 is fed to a suction port of the hydraulic motor 30 and a third change-over position where the oil fed from the hydraulic pump 10 is fed to a discharge port of the hydraulic motor 30.
