PURPOSE: To contrive to reduce the engine oil cost by a constitution wherein engine oil is used as the working oil for the hydraulic actuator of the hydraulically operated type fuel injection timing adjusting device in common.
CONSTITUTION: A controlling valve 4 to control the hydraulic actuator 103 is connected respectively with one end of each of a working oil return pipe 6 and a working oil supply pipe 7, the other end of which is respectively inserted in the oil pan 11 of an internal combustion engine. The working oil supply pipe 7 is provided with a pump 8, a relief valve 9 and a heater 10 in order from its upstream side. In spite of the above-mentioned constitution in which the engine oil of the internal combustion engine is used as the working oil of the hydraulic actuator 103, because the required temperature of the lubricating oil necessary for the lubrication of various parts in the internal combustion engine is different from that of the working oil for the hydraulic actuator 103, the common use of the distributing pipings of the lubricating oil and the working oil is not preferable.
