Abstract:
PURPOSE: To stabilize 3-isothiazolones without suffering any damage by another component in the used system by adding hydrazides. CONSTITUTION: This stabilizer is obtained by combining (A) 3-isothiazolones, e.g. a compound of the formula (Y is respectively substitutable 118C alkyl, a 3-12C cycloalkyl, a 7-10C aralkyl, aryl, a 2-8C alkenyl or alkynyl substitutable with a halogen; R and R1 are each H, a halogen or a 1-4C alkyl), preferably 5-chloro-2-methyl-3-isothiazolone with (B) hydrazides selected from non- substituted or substituted alkylhydrazides, arylhydrazides, semicarbazides, heterocyclic hydrazides and alkyldihydrazides, preferably benzylhydrazide or maleic hydrazide. A weight ratio of (B/A) is (1/10)-(100/1), preferably (1/1)-(20/1).
