Abstract:
To provide an optical film that can be produced at a low cost and can perform uniform polarization conversion in a wide wavelength region, a hydrazine compound as a production raw material of the above film, and the like.SOLUTION: The hydrazine compound is represented by formula (3). In the formula, Arepresents an organic group having at least one aromatic ring and 2 to 30 carbon atoms, where the aromatic ring is selected from aromatic hydrocarbon rings having a specific structure and may have a substituent; Arepresents an organic group having at least one aromatic ring and 2 to 30 carbon atoms, where the aromatic ring is selected from aromatic hydrocarbon rings or heteroaromatic rings having a specific structure and may have a substituent. A production method of an optical anisotropic body is provided, which includes: a step of allowing the hydrazine compound to react with a carbonyl compound to obtain a polymerizable compound; a step of forming an alignment film on a substrate; and a step of forming a liquid crystal layer made of a polymer that is obtained by polymerizing the above polymerizable compound or a polymerizable composition containing the polymerizable compound and a polymerization initiator.SELECTED DRAWING: None
