To obtain a new hydrin monoazo compound, excellent in dyeability, various fastnesses and solubility, hardly affected by the fluctuation in dyeing temperature, bath ratio, etc., and useful for dyeing cellulosic fibers, etc., and dyeing and printing fibers.
This hydrin monoazo compound is represented by the formula [W is an alkylene; R1 is a lower alkyl; R2 is H, a halogen, cyano group, etc.; R3 and R4 are each H, a (substituted)(branched)alkyl; R5 and R6 are each a (substituted)(branched)cyclic alkyl, etc.; Y is vinyl, etc.; D is a (substitute)phenyl, etc.; the substituent group of D, R5 and R6 is not a group reactive with fibers and at least one of phenyl and naphthyl has sulfo or carboxyl as a substituent group; (n) is 2-4] or its salt, e.g. 2-(1,6-dihydro-{1-[2-({4-anilino-6-[2-(β- sulfatoethylsulfonyl)ethyl]amino-1,3,5-triazin-2-yl}amino)ethyl]-6-oxo-2-hydroxy-4- methylpyridin-3-yl}azo)naphthalene-1,5-disulfonic acid.
