PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electroluminescent element excellent in luminous efficiency and having a long emission lifetime. SOLUTION: This organic electroluminescent element includes between a pair of electrodes, one or more layers including one or more new hydrocarbon compounds in which an anthracene ring and a fluorene ring are directly bonded, the compound is preferably used for the electroluminescent element excellent in luminous efficiency and has a long emission lifetime.
