PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electroluminescent element of high emission efficiency and high brightness and a new hydrocarbon compound suited to it. SOLUTION: The compound as represented in a formula (1-A) and the electroluminescent element are concerned. In the formula, X1 to X24 are, each independently, hydrogen atom, halogen atom, a straight-chain, branched, or cyclic alkyl group, a straight-chain, branched, or cyclic alkoxy group, or substituted or non-substituted aryl group.
