Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To elucidate characteristics of hydrocarbon fuel suitable as fuel for generation of hydrogen and provide a method for producing such fuel at a low cost. SOLUTION: This hydrocarbon fuel for generating hydrogen in the present invention has <=5 vol.% aromatic content, <=10 vol.% olefin content, <=1 ppm sulfur content, >=25 deg.C temperature at which 5% material is distilled off and <=250 deg.C temperature at which 95% material is distilled off, >=1.9 atomic ratio (H/C) of hydrogen to carbon and <=1 mg/100 ml actual gum, and preferably contains 50-80 wt.% branched aliphatic hydrocarbon. The such hydrocarbon fuel for generating hydrogen can be produced by using a step for isomerizing the hydrocarbon oil or a step for hydro-refining a fraction obtained by catalytic decomposition.
