PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an adhesive plaster having improved strength, water absorbency and water retentivity as well as improved adhesion and easier stripping off ability by composing it with an adhesive layer of an adhesive polyvinyl alcohol hydrogel, a water retaining and holding layer of a polyvinyl alcohol hydrogel and a sustaining layer in order.
SOLUTION: The hydrogel adhesive plaster is composed of an adhesive layer of an adhesive PVA hydrogel, a water absorbing and holding layer of a PVA hydrogel and a sustaining layer laminated together in order. This adhesive layer comprises a cross-linked adhesive PVA hydrogel prepared by applying for example, an aqueous solution of PVA containing at least one kind of polymer selected from among polyvinylpyrrolidone(PVP), methyl vinyl ether maleic acid anhydride copolymer(VEMA), etc., on a water absorbing and holding layer and irradiating the applied layer with radiation. When preparing the water absorbing and holding layer, it's desirable to have radiation treatment as soon after having applied an aqueous solution of 10-100% PVA and 0-90% PVP on it.
