PURPOSE: To provide a simple, easy HCl removing apparatus for small-sized incinerators which is simple in structure and operation and less expensive and is to be attached to a small-sized incinerator outside exhaust gas regulations or an incinerator which is operated intermittently.
CONSTITUTION: In an apparatus casing 2 installed in a flue part such as a stack, an umbrella-shaped baffle 7 the outside diameter of which is larger than the outside diameter of the flue part and smaller than the inside diameter of the casing 2 is arranged to cover the upper end of a lower side flue part 3 leaving a required distance and to keep a required distance to the inner wall of the casing. Washing liquid or a neutralizer is atomized into exhaust gas 21 passing through a space above the baffle 7 so that the atomized liquid 22 falls on the upper surface of the baffle 7 while being contacted with the exhaust gas, forming a water curtain 23 on the entire periphery of the baffle 7. The exhaust gas 21 discharged from the lower side flue part 3 is introduced into the water curtain 23 so that an HCl component in the exhaust gas is removed by the contact.
