Abstract:
To provide a low pollution hydrogen engine discharging less thermal NOx and discharging only hot water and its driving method.
Compressed hydrogen and air are mixed with each other and the mixture is sucked into a combustion chamber. By using a hydrogen oxidation catalyst 8 fitted to a rotor 7 or a piston 22, the hydrogen is subjected to combustion reaction at low temperature in the combustion chamber, and the rotor 7 or the piston 22 is driven by utilizing the contraction force (negative pressure) generated by the reaction.
