Abstract:

To provide a hydrogen generating apparatus that separates hydrogen efficiently from a reformed gas by improving the same and enhances a hydrogen production efficiency by increasing the amount of discharge of the residual gas after separating hydrogen.

The chemical reaction part of the hydrogen generating apparatus is communicated with one end of a cylinder 71 and a piston 72 is inserted into the cylinder 71 in such a manner that it is transferable, bounding the piston 72 to form a first chamber 77 of the one end side of the cylinder 71 and a second chamber 78 of the other end side of the cylinder 71 within the cylinder 71. The first chamber 77 and the second chamber 78 are connected by a communicating passage 83, and a hydrogen separation membrane 82 is fitted in the communicating passage 83. A mixed gas supplied to the first chamber by the transfer of the piston is highly pressurized. Consequently, hydrogen can be separated efficiently from the mixed gas. The volume of the first chamber is reduced by the transfer of the piston. The residual gas remaining in the first chamber can be lessened by discharging the residual gas after hydrogen among the mixed gas is separated when the volume of the first chamber is minimized. Then, hydrogen efficiency can be enhanced because the amount of supply of the mixed gas can be increased when the mixed gas is supplied to the first chamber.
