Abstract:
PURPOSE:To solve a problem in which hydrogen consumption is fluctuated by change of operating condition and metal hydride(MH) container pressure exceeds a set value, in a case where hydrogen is generated by metal hydride(MH) to drive an automobile engine, by supplying a necessary amount of hydrogen while suppressing the pressure fluctuation at a low level. CONSTITUTION:An excitation device 3 is provided on a MH container 1, and a vibration which meets a rotational speed is applied to an engine 2 by detecting the rotational speed of the engine 2 to drive the excitation device 3. Also, the same purpose is achieved by driving directly the excitation device 3 with engine rotational force. When a vibration is applied to MH powder, MH makes fluid motion and heat transfer is promoted so as to increase a hydrogen generation amount. Also, a heat transfer amount is changed according to strength of vibration. Since the necessary hydrogen amount is in close relation to the engine rotational speed, it is thus possible to generate such hydrogen as meeting the necessary hydrogen amount, and keep the pressure of a tank in a designed range by applying a vibration which meets the rotational speed to the MH container 1.
