To solve a problem in which in a conventional hydrogen generator, a flue gas passage is an annular passage having a constant diameter, but when being a form in which the diameter of the flue gas passage becomes wide toward downstream (so-called, a taper shape), a problem that is generated is not studied in past.
A hydrogen generator includes: a reaction vessel 20 that performs a reaction that relates generation of hydrogen inclusion gas using a raw material; a combustor 5 to heat the reaction vessel; a taper shape flue gas passage 8 in which flue gas generated in the combustor 5 flows; an outlet 7 disposed at a downstream end face of the flue gas passage 8; and components 22a, 22b that are disposed in the flue gas passage 8 and collide with flow of the flue gas.
