Abstract:

To provide a hydrogen manufacturing equipment capable of manufacturing H2 in low cost, further capable of reducing the CO concentration in the H2 product H2 to the extremely low one by utilizing a partial oxidation method.

This hydrogen manufacturing equipment has a partially oxidizing furnace 3 for reacting oxygen with a raw material hydrocarbon at a high temperature to provide a mixed gas consisting essentially of carbon monoxide and hydrogen, a CO shift conversion furnace 4 for shift converting the carbon monoxide in the mixed gas obtained in the partially oxidizing furnace 3 with water to carbon dioxide and the hydrogen. The hydrogen manufacturing equipment further has an activated carbon absorbing cylinder 6 and a zeolite absorbing cylinder 7 for absorbing and removing the impurity consisting essentially of the carbon dioxide, etc., from the mixed gas obtained in the carbon monoxide shift conversion furnace 4 by a solid absorbent, a cryogenic methane separator 2 for removing methane gas from the gas after passing through the absorbing cylinder 6 and 7, and a methanator 5 for reacting the carbon monoxide remaining in the gas subjected to removal of the methane gas with the hydrogen to change the carbon monoxide to the methane gas and water to reduce the remaining carbon monoxide concentration in the product hydrogen gas.
