To provide a hydrogen production apparatus capable of supplying an appropriate amount of oxygen to a selective oxidation catalyst without using a heating means even when the supply amount of oxygen is small, and suppressing the fluctuation of the flow rate of oxygen caused by the pressure fluctuation of a reforming device.
The hydrogen production apparatus 1 produces a reformed gas containing hydrogen as a main component by reforming a fuel and steam, and selectively removing carbon monoxide contained in the reformed gas by bringing the reformed gas and gaseous oxygen into contact with a selective oxidation catalyst. In the apparatus, the gaseous oxygen is supplied from an electrolysis section 6 where the gaseous oxygen is produced by the electrolysis of water.
