Abstract:

To provide a catalyst capable of hydrogenating carbon dioxide at an atmospheric pressure at a reaction temperature of ≤200°C at a high conversion rate, and to provide a hydrogen reduction method of carbon dioxide using the catalyst.

A catalyst for hydrogen reduction of carbon dioxide is a catalyst for hydrogen reduction of carbon dioxide, in which a nanoparticle is dispersed and carried on a powdery carrier, wherein ≥90% of the nanoparticle is a particle whose particle diameter is <10 nm; and the nanoparticle is at least one metal particle selected from the group consisting of Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Ru, Rh, Pd, Ag, Ir, Pt and Au, or a material particle containing the metal particle.
